Le Grand Salon

Like the mirror hall of Versailles this stunning example of vision, craft, and unapologetic opulence is breathtaking and it is airy and light. What makes this awe-inspiring piano like none other is the combination of mother-of-pearl intarsia that covers the entire piano with gilded bronze appliqué superimposed in simple geometrical shapes, creating the frame honey-comb inspired panes. At one elaborate and simple this design simply stuns in person.

The piano gleams with light refractions from the tiny pieces of mother-of-pearl as they are help together in elegant and regal shapes by the golden cages of the panels and discreet, small flower rosettes in each corner. The panes are separated by vertical inserts of large beveled mother-of-pearl, a particularly precious large segments also grace the reversed obelisks of this piano’s legs. The lid features the mirror on its underside revealing the splendor of the gold-leafed interior and piano action when open. The music stand is gold-leafed by hand completing this stunning symphony in white and gold. Indeed this grand piano makes its owner of Roi De Solei of their own domain.
