LUMIERE TANGO
Sleek, unexpected, and undeniably modern.
Introducing: a new grand piano sensation from Lumiere – Tango.
Its rare beauty lies in the meticulously designed proportions, allowing the familiar shape of the grand piano to take a new form. With the angled taper of the tail, the lid, when opened, presents a stunning visual reminiscent of a flag billowing in the wind. The transparent acrylic panel in the center of the lid traces the iconic curve of the grand piano architecture, with the far edge being a straight line, following along the flat side of the piano rim. This conceptual reimagining of the lid transforms the familiar into the innovative, making the open lid a focal point of the Tango grand piano.
The body of the Tango piano is a testament to Lumiére’s innovative approach to piano building. The top keyboard sides of the rim are slanted at a much less steep, giving the piano’s profile an elegant, modern line. The bottom front rim, traditionally straight, comes up, gracing the entire profile with a touch of the aerodynamic aesthetic of an aircraft fuselage.
The vertical thickness of the Tango grand’s tail tapers at the end, allowing the entire body of the piano to appear lightweight.

The legs of Tango grand are the pinnacle of Lumiére’s design vision. The two front ‘legs’ are modified V-shaped structures with an asymmetrical cutout in the center.
The base of the leg’s attachment to the body of the piano is much wider, thus changing the proportional balance of this grand piano, integrating the legs into the body organically. The ‘ ghost ‘ effect is breathtaking when the front legs are made of acrylic. The piano floats midair, exposing its most jaw-dropping feature – the inverted V-shape pedal lyra/back leg, forged of metal. In one sweeping arc, the flat metal ribbon starts as a pedal Lyra in the front and descends from its contact with the bottom of the body as a weight-bearing back leg.
Like the arabesque of a tango dancer, this singular detail makes the Tango grand piano unlike anything you have ever seen. Available in various finishes and colors, the design possibilities are infinite.
